National implementation in Romenia by ASOCIATIA EURO ADULT EDUCATION

We are proud to share the results of the Citizens Xelerator Pilot Action and realized Citizens Xelerator Igniting Events, successfully implemented in Romania by ASOCIATIA EURO ADULT EDUCATION.

This initiative empowered citizens through active participation, community-driven solutions, and skills development, proving to be a transformative experience for local communities.

Capacity Building for Adult Education Professionals

The Capacity Building Program for Adult Education Professionals was designed to equip educators with essential tools and methodologies for fostering lifelong learning. The program consisted of 1 face-to-face session and 1 self-learning module, spanning a total duration of 16 hours. Feedback from participants highlighted the value of the program:

💬 “I really liked the whole program, especially the work models that can be adapted to our needs. Also, the 11 learning sessions were excellent!”

💬 “I liked the card collection and the fact that we can participate and organize concrete local activities.”

💬 “I was especially interested in the LifeComp card collection, and I liked the module ‘Create your action!’ because we can create concrete activities at local level adapted to the needs of the community.”

💬 “I learned many things in this program, such as the life competencies that are necessary for every citizen throughout life.”

These comments reflect the practical applicability of the program and its ability to address the real needs of both educators and the communities they serve.

Citizens Xelerator Action Labs

The Citizens Xelerator Action Labs provided an interactive platform for community members to generate and implement ideas for local development. The labs were composed of:

  • 2 “Think Tank Brainstorming” sessions with 31 participants, which resulted in 5 actionable ideas for local initiatives.
  • 5 “Create Your Action” activities with 20 participants, focused on building tangible solutions for community needs. The actions identified were:
    1. We and the Community
    2. Digital Literacy – How to Use Our Phones
    3. Re-establishment of the Folklore Ensemble “Poienita Drajna”
    4. The Park by the Mill
    5. Creative Club – Cronica Drajnei

These projects reflect the diverse interests and needs of the local population, ranging from cultural heritage preservation to improving digital skills and creating public spaces for community engagement.

  • We also celebrated 2 Citizens Xelerator Days, with 41 participants. These special days offered opportunities for learning, celebration, and community involvement. The events included:
  1. City Stei Day
  2. Autumn Celebrations in Drajna

 

  • Delivery of 11 Microlearning sessions, engaging 145 participants. These short, impactful learning experiences covered essential topics aimed at enhancing citizens’ skills and fostering inclusion. The sessions included:
  1. Financial Literacy – 2 sessions
  2. Digital Literacy – 3 sessions
  3. Sustainability Literacy – 1 session
  4. Social Empathy – 1 session
  5. Diversity and Inclusion Awareness – 1 session
  6. Democratic and Civic Participation – 1 session
  7. Career Management Skills – 1 session

Feedback from participants showed the real-life impact of these sessions:

💬 “In the digital literacy lessons, I finally learned to use the smartphone to be able to communicate more easily with my children and grandchildren from abroad.”

This feedback illustrates how digital literacy has become a key enabler for social connection and bridging generational gaps.

 

  • The LifeComp Cards were also a highlight of the project, with participants showing great interest in their practical application:

💬 “I particularly liked the way the LifeComp cards were designed.”

These cards were an excellent tool for guiding participants through discussions on key competencies for life and learning, ensuring that the sessions were both engaging and impactful.

Citizens Xelerator Igniting Events

Our recent events have successfully advanced the goals of adult education and civic engagement. These gatherings served as dynamic platforms to disseminate information about the project and its objectives, foster collaboration and inspire civic and democratic engagement and establish valuable partnerships and expand our network.

Igniting events Agenda:

  • The online event featured sessions on project contextualization, action lab exercises, experimentation with resources, and invitations for partnerships.
  • In-person events included presentations on the project, demonstrations of the CX Model and Kit, interactive activities to develop personal and social skills, participatory discussions on citizenship-related topics, and satisfaction surveys

Results:

  • 18 trainers/teachers from 8 organizations attended the event,
  • partner organization included: Bucovina Institute for Social Partnership Association,
  • 30 representatives from various institutions including cultural centers, public libraries, city halls, social service departments, and high schools,
  • participants included active teachers, seniors working in social assistance, cultural centers, and libraries.

Through these efforts, we have created opportunities to exchange best practices, engage stakeholders, and strengthen training and networking opportunities.
